Stephen began drawing seriously in 1990. As a once keen sportsman and with a passion for boxing, his first subjects were his favourite boxers.

Stephen attended many boxing shows selling his prints as official merchandise, and giving him the opportunity to meet many famous boxers.

Many of Stephen's artworks are of sporting personalities and famous celebrities, who have been an influence to him throughout his life.
